Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Quality Improvement Lead for Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center's Sterile Processing Services in Winston-Salem. The role focuses on evaluating workflow, staff competence, and resource use to improve patient care quality.

The position requires a Bachelor's in a health-related field or industrial engineering, with four years in healthcare and at least three in QI, plus preferred certifications such as CPHQ or Six Sigma. Travel to other AHWFB locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health-related field or industrial engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Four years’ experience in health care with at least three years in quality improvement, process improvement, or change management.
• Certification in Health Care Quality (CPHQ), Six Sigma or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates performance by workflow efficiency, staff competency, and resource use.
• Develops and implements improvement plans using IHI Model for Improvement and LEAN.
• Identifies opportunities with departments and prioritizes improvement initiatives.
• Analyzes data to detect care delivery patterns and root causes.
• Disseminates data using run charts, histograms, and reports.
• Translates findings into early intervention strategies for health outcomes.
• Ensures staff education and resources for changes are provided.
• Keeps leadership informed of performance relative to targets and evidence base.
• Collaborates to increase NCQA recognition across programs.
• Documents improvement activities and reports them internally and externally.
• Highlights outcomes and gains from QI initiatives.
• Demonstrates leadership, problem solving and teamwork.
• Aligns with departments to achieve common goals.
• Creates policies to ensure quality care and minimize harm.
• Attends meetings and trainings on continuous improvement.
