Job summary

Advocate Health Wake Forest’s western NC community affiliates seek a Sterile Processing Manager to lead OR Sterile Processing decontamination and sterilization across Hugh Chatham Health in Elkin, Wilkes Medical Center in North Wilkesboro, and Alleghany Health in Sparta.

The role provides 24/7 strategic leadership, directing operations, ensuring compliance with CMS, TJC and AAMI standards, and partnering with leadership to drive performance and quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; experience managing a busy central sterile/sterile processing department
• Expert knowledge in sterilization and high-level disinfection processes
• Ability to communicate and problem solve using critical thinking

Responsibilities

• Supervises OR SPD staff to meet performance and quality goals and manages all processing, sterilization and inventory activities
• Presents data to senior leadership and collaborates with OR personnel to improve workflows
• Develops policies, procedures, and safety standards for OR SPD and ensures regulatory compliance
• Evaluates inventory and recommends stock/ instrumentation changes to optimize operations
• Maintains instrument tracking and quality assurance for department activities
• Coordinates training and competency validation for staff and manages scheduling to ensure cases have instrumentation
