Job summary

USC’s Keck Hospital of USC seeks an SPD Manager to lead the Decontamination, Sterile Preparation and RME reprocessing across the HealthCare System. You will plan, direct and optimize SPD operations, ensuring staff competency and regulatory compliance throughout all locations.

You will develop performance standards, manage equipment processing, and coordinate training to maintain high standards of patient safety and care. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• 5 years experience in OR/acute hospital environment.
• CRCST credential required.
• Knowledge of Central Sterile Processes and instrument management.
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and staff.
• Valid CRCST credential.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) within 30 days of hire (if card not on hire).

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, coordinate and direct SPD operations.
• Manage device processing, instrument inventories, equipment and facilities.
• Monitor patient care equipment and processing of patient care devices.
• Coordinate interdepartmental services within the hospital system.
• Oversee staff orientation, training and continuing education.
• Establish quality control and performance improvement activities.
• Monitor inventory, budget and staff utilization.
• Ensure compliance with infection control standards and hospital policies.
• Ensure productivity aligns with surgical case volume and census.
• Maintain inventory levels and appropriate asset protection.
