Job summary

St. Charles Health System in Bend, Oregon, seeks an experienced Sterile Processing Manager to lead operations across our Bend and Redmond campuses and partner with Perioperative Services to ensure exceptional patient care.

You will build a high-performing team, drive regulatory compliance with CMS, TJC, and industry standards, and advance Lean improvements while stewarding budgets and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Current CST, CRCST, CBSPD, or Oregon RN license.
• Minimum 3 years of Sterile Processing experience.
• Minimum 5 years of healthcare experience, including 3 years in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams, improving operations, managing budgets, and building collaborative relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations for Sterile Processing across multiple hospital campuses.
• Oversee decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution supporting surgical and procedural areas across the health system.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing team through coaching, education, performance management, and competency validation.
• Partner with Perioperative Services, Infection Prevention, Quality, and clinical leaders to support patient outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, The Joint Commission (TJC), AAMI, AORN, AST, and other regulatory standards.
• Drive Lean process improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and caregiver engagement.
• Manage departmental budgets, staffing, operational performance, and strategic initiatives.
• Foster a culture centered on safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
