Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Manager Sterile Processing to provide leadership and direction within the Sterile Processing Department (SPD), overseeing case carts, sterilization, inventory control, and supply staff while ensuring patient safety and high service quality.

Responsibilities include staffing, budgeting, hiring decisions, coaching, policy implementation, regulatory compliance, and driving performance through data reviews and staff development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or additional four years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Four years of progressively responsible sterile supply and processing, inventory, experience or related field.
• Must have CHL and one of CRCST/CSPDT and CIS/CSIS credentials.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily SPD operations, staffing, scheduling, and performance.
• Provide leadership and guidance to staff, including coaching and development.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.
• Monitor instrumentation/processing workflows and case cart readiness.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to optimize inventory and instrument availability.
• Lead process improvements and foster a patient‑centered service culture.
