Job summary

Universal Health Services, a leading health care provider, seeks a Sterile Processing Department Manager to oversee SPD operations, ensure timely delivery of reprocessed items, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. The role collaborates with Infection Prevention and hospital leadership to drive quality and efficiency across the unit and affiliated clinics.

The ideal candidate has a strong SPD background, relevant certifications, and fluency in English, with experience managing SPD

Qualifications

• Requires Associate Degree within two years of employment.
• Five years minimum in Sterile Processing with increasing responsibility.
• Maintains currency with four SPD certifications or equivalent within three years of employment.
• All SPD staff must be proficient in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Infection Prevention staff and hospital leadership to monitor, develop and implement quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
• Maintains instructions, policies, and performance expectations based on industry guidelines and regulatory standards (AHRQ, AAMI, AORN, APIC, ASGE, CDC, EPA, FDA, IAHCSMM, OSHA, SGNA, TJC, WHO).
• Maintains staff scheduling (timekeeping) to ensure operational support requirements are met for the OR and supported clinical areas.
