Job summary

Atrium Health in North Carolina seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to support the SPD under the Instrument Processing Supervisor. You will serve as a departmental resource and ensure high standards of instrument processing and patient safety.

The role requires a CSPDT or similar certification, a high school diploma or GED, and at least two years in Sterile Processing. You will work 40 hours weekly in a fast-paced environment with various shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required with two years in Sterile Processing.
• Certification as CSPDT or other sterile processing certification required; CSPDT encouraged within three years of hire.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds; comfortable with computer use.

Responsibilities

• Expert in all aspects of the sterile processing cycle and provide guidance to SPD staff.
• May assume Sterile Processing Supervisor role when assigned.
• Help maintain department production by directing SPD employees.
• Assist with case carts management and communicate issues.
• Discuss instrument needs with SPD Supervisor, Liaisons, and OR Coordinators.
• Ensure equipment functions properly and report issues.
• Assist with compliance logs and policy enforcement.
• Support special projects and interdepartmental committees.
• Follow policies to prevent spread of bloodborne and airborne diseases.
