Job summary

Memorial Hermann Northeast is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to provide sterilized instruments, supplies and equipment to the operating room and other hospital areas. May act as lead/charge on shift and assist in supervising others while following standard precautions.

Required: High School Diploma or GED, CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification, and at least two years of sterilization experience. Preferred CIS/CSIS certification.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification by CBSPD or IAHCSMM is required.
• Two years of experience in sterilization of instruments and equipment is required.

Responsibilities

• Organize, prepare, assemble, and sterilize instruments and supplies.
• Load, monitor, and maintain sterilization equipment.
• Maintain records and assist with quality control and infection control standards.
• Communicate delays or problems to OR and other areas as needed.
