Job summary

Memorial Hermann Northeast is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to provide sterilized surgical instruments and supplies to the operating room and other hospital areas. The role may function as lead/charge on the shift, ensuring adherence to Standard Precautions and sterile processing procedures.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, 2+ years in instrument sterilization, and CBSPD/IAHCSMM certification as preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification by CBSPD or IAHCSMM required.
• CIS or CSIS preferred.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in sterilization of instruments and equipment.
• Ability to read, speak and follow English instructions.
• Ability to lift and maneuver supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide sterilized instruments and supplies to the operating room and other areas as needed.
• May serve as lead technician on the shift.
• Maintain and monitor sterilization equipment and quality control standards.
• Identify repairs and report equipment needing maintenance.
• Adhere to hospital sterilization standards and safety policies.
