Job summary

Memorial Hermann is seeking a Sterile Processing team member to handle the preparation and packaging of surgical instruments for sterilization. The evening shift runs 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with responsibilities including inspecting, wrapping, and assembling instruments for sterilization in a hospital setting.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification within a year, and at least one year of Sterile Processing experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED and one year of formal training or education in a related allied/clinical healthcare profession.
• Licenses/ Certifications: CBSPD or IAHCSMM required or must obtain within one year of hire date.
• Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Minimum 1 year in Sterile Processing or related allied/clinical healthcare role.
• English language proficiency required.
• Ability to lift and maneuver supplies and equipment and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Handle, inspect, and prepare instruments for sterilization according to standards.
• Assemble and wrap instruments for sterilization; ensure proper count and packaging.
• Monitor and operate cleaning/sterilization equipment safely.
• Maintain records and report equipment needing repair; assist with quality control.
• Support infection control standards and adhere to hospital policies.
