Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the operating room by sterilizing instruments, supplies, and equipment. The role may assume lead/charge responsibilities during the shift and requires adherence to Standard Precautions and event-related sterility principles.

Nights 10:00 pm - 6:30 pm. Qualified candidates will have at least two years of sterilization experience, CBSPD/IAHCSMM certification (CIS/CSIS preferred), and strong teamwork and

Qualifications

• Two years of experience sterilizing instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to lift and maneuver supplies with others.
• Basic computer skills and professional communication required.

Responsibilities

• May function as lead technician/charge person on the shift.
• Prepare, assemble and sterilize instruments and equipment per standards.
• Maintain records and report equipment in need of repair.
• Monitor quality control and infection control standards.
• Communicate delays or instrument/equipment issues to OR and other areas.
