Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Sterile Processing lead to ensure the proper inventory, decontamination, assembly, inspection, packaging, sterilization, and traceability of surgical supplies. You will supervise staff, mentor teammates, train others, and serve as a resource for OR and Sterile Processing teams while interacting with operating room personnel to meet patient care standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• Three years instrumentation experience in a hospital setting.
• 1 year of recent work experience in Central Sterile Processing.
• Certified Central Service Technician certification.
• 6 months to 1 year in a lead/supervisory capacity.
• Successful completion of a vocational program for Central Service, preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Knowledge of computerized instrument tracking system(s) preferred.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Good verbal and written communications skills (English).
• Self-motivated, able to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Able to work standing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized and traced in a quality/timely manner.
• Supervise others to ensure all tasks within Sterile Processing are completed to meet customer expectations.
• Train, mentor and develop others; serve as a resource to Sterile Processing employees and customers.
• Interact and problem solve extensively with Operating Room personnel.
