Job summary

Arizona General Hospital in Mesa is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech Lead to oversee decontamination, assembly, preparation, and packaging of instruments and devices, ensuring adherence to infection control policies. You will manage scheduling, monitor sterilization parameters, maintain quality records, and coordinate with CSSD, ORs, and nursing units while mentoring staff.

This senior role emphasizes leadership, compliance, and fast-paced problem solving.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years surgical instrument experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• One of the following certifications: CRCST, CSPDS, CSPDT or CSPDT-CBSPD.

Responsibilities

• Ensures staff follows infection control policies; decontaminates surgical instruments, power equipment, and other devices.
• Follows manufacturer recommendations; appropriate use of manual disinfectants.
• Knowledge and use of sterilizers - ultrasonic, washers, cart washer, and high-level disinfection.
• Gives direction to staff on prioritizing workload; coordinates sterilizing schedule to meet instrumentation needs of all ORs and clinics.
• Assists departments picking up sterilized items and fills out the sterilization request forms appropriately.
