Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Current national certification as SPD Technician, CRST or Surgical Instrument Processor required.
• Mechanical aptitude with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to problem solve and manage instrument trays and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, assembles and packages instruments following established protocols and repairs or reassembles as needed.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment following PPE and infection control practices.
• Identifies instruments, assesses function, and handles repair or replacement per protocol.
• Operates sterilizers and maintains related logs and records.
• Responds to Operating Room calls and prioritizes instrumentation requests for timely completion.
