Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Lead Sterile Processing Associate to lead decontamination, instrument assembly and sterilization at the Integrated Services Center in Omaha, NE. This full-time role emphasizes patient safety and infection control with oversight of staff on shift.

Responsibilities include supporting perioperative services, liaising with surgical specialties, and ensuring instruments are properly reprocessed.

Qualifications

Minimum of three years sterile processing or OR surgical technologist experience.
High school education or equivalent.
Experience using Steam, Ethylene Oxide, and Hydrogen Peroxide Gas Plasma sterilizers; PC, laser printer, barcode scanner, barcode printer, Washer/Decontamination Unit, and Heat Sealer Biological Auto reader.
Communication skills, written and verbal are required.
Basic computer skills are required.
CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification within 12 months of hire or transfer date.

Responsibilities

Lead a group in decontamination, instrument assembly/preparation and sterilization.
Ensure patient safety and infection control by proper reprocessing and maintenance of instruments and equipment.
Operate multiple sterilizers and decontamination equipment.
Provide support for Perioperative services and liaison to surgical specialty services.
Be responsible and accountable for staff on assigned shift and location.
