Job summary

CommonSpirit Health-affiliated Arizona General Hospital – Mesa seeks a Sterile Processing Tech Lead to supervise decontamination, assembly, preparation and packaging of surgical instruments and devices. You will oversee sterilization methods, monitor quality records, and coordinate with CSSD, ORs, and nursing units to ensure instruments and implants meet needs.

Qualifications

• Three years surgical instrument experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST, CSPDS, CSPDT or CSPDT-CBSPD certification required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures staff follows all infection control policies and decontaminates surgical instruments, power equipment and other medical devices.
• Follows manufacturer recommendations and appropriate use of manual disinfectants.
• Knowledge and use of sterilizers - ultrasonic, washers, cart washers, and high-level disinfection.
• Directs staff on prioritizing workload and coordinates sterilizing schedule to meet instrumentation needs of ORs and clinics.
• Assists departments with pickup of sterilized items and fills out sterilization request forms appropriately.
