Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a CSPD Supervisor to plan, coordinate and supervise sterile instrument processing for the Central Sterile Processing Department. You will oversee daily shift operations, ensure compliance with safety standards, and support hiring, training, and performance management.

Qualifications

• Current certification through CBSPD or HSPA.
• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of three years of experience in sterile processing.
• Extensive knowledge of OR and clinical instrumentation.
• Competency in Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Ability to demonstrate customer service standards and behaviors.
• Strong communication, problem solving and decision-making abilities.
• Organized, self-motivated with interpersonal skills.
• Strong operational and clinical skills in Central Processing.

Responsibilities

• Directs the daily supervision of all shift work (receiving, decontamination, cleaning, assembly, sterilization and distribution of surgical or procedural instruments and packs).
• Schedules staff assignments on a daily basis; assists CSPD manager with monthly staff schedule.
• Ensures adherence to quality systems and measures.
• Assists manager with hiring, evaluation, counseling and termination of staff.
• Maintains safety standards to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
• Coordinates workflow and services between departments.
• Monitors sterilization documentation and equipment maintenance.
• Supports and mentors staff; participates in committees and education offerings.
