North Carolina Specialty Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor to oversee the daily SPD operations and staff. You will ensure proper care and maintenance of surgical instruments, sterilization processes, and adherence to aseptic techniques, with close collaboration with Operating Room staff to meet equipment needs.

The role demands the ability to work under pressure, maintain documentation, and uphold hospital policies while driving quality and safety in the sterile

Qualifications

• High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent experience.
• Completion of Sterile Processing Program from an accredited institution or equivalent clinical experience in SPD.
• Certification required for Supervisor position along with 3-5 years of experience in SPD.
• Effective communication skills; both orally and written.
• Computer skills needed.
• Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
• Strong critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of SPD department and staff.
• Ensure proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation, equipment, and sterilization processes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic techniques and operating room equipment and supplies.
• Communicate with Operating Room staff regarding equipment needs.
• Work under pressure with patience and endurance.
• Align SPD procedures with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
