Job summary

Duke Health Cary Hospital is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Supervisor to provide frontline operational leadership for the Sterile Supply Processing department at the Duke Health Cary location.

The role focuses on coordinating daily operations, staff performance, and ensuring safe, high-quality service delivery, with direct supervision of SPD personnel and adherence to infection control and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician to include leadership experience.
• Current certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST, HSPA, or CBSPD).

Responsibilities

• Schedules and supervises the work of assigned staff to ensure smooth workflow in the department.
• Selects, trains and manages the performance of staff and provides daily direction.
• Coordinates decontamination, instrument inspection, cleaning, packaging of surgical instruments, materials and equipment.
• Proficient in SPMS, Epic and Dove Tree instrumentation tracking systems.
• Monitors inventory and procurement, analyzes usage to optimize par levels.
• Identifies opportunities to improve processes, quality, safety, and productivity.
