Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Tech to join the Wesley Chapel team. The role handles decontamination, prep, packaging and sterilization of all instrumentation, following department procedures. The tech also acts as a preceptor and resource for colleagues, ensuring compliance with sterile standards and safety policies.

Location: Wesley Chapel Hospital. Status: Full Time. Shift: 10:00am to 6:30pm, Shift 1; weekend work occasional; on-call yes.

Qualifications

• Experience in decontamination, prep, packaging and sterilization per department procedures.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and instrumentation.
• Review policies to ensure compliance with standards.

Sterile Processing Tech - Certified Responsibilities:

Responsible for the decontamination, prepping, packaging and sterilization of all instrumentation processed through the department following established department procedures. Acts as preceptor, mentor and resource in support of department team members. Required specific skills also includes knowledge of decontamination processes, preparation, and packaging, sterilization techniques based on manufacturer recommendations, and storage of sterilized items, as well as knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up and interpreting policies, procedures, and protocols and reviewing performance in compliance with recognized standards.

• High School or Equivalent
• HSPA (Health System Performance Assessment), CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician), CBSPDT (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Technicians).
