Job summary

Wells Pharma is seeking a Pharmacist for a full-time, on-site role in Houston, TX. You will oversee sterile compounded medications, verify orders, ensure sterility and proper documentation, and maintain regulatory readiness.

You will collaborate with technicians, quality, and operations teams to promote safe practices, optimize workflows, and participate in QA activities while supporting investigations and ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist license in good standing, eligible to practice in Texas.
• Experience in sterile compounding, hospital pharmacy, or 503B outsourcing facilities preferred.
• Knowledge of FDA 503B regulations, USP <797>/<800>, and cGMP or related quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order verification, documentation, and product review.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and comfort with electronic health records or pharmacy systems.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, continuous improvement, and compliance with policies.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation, verification, and dispensing of sterile compounded medications.
• Review and approve medication orders, verify formulations and labels.
• Ensure accuracy, sterility, and proper documentation for all products.
• Monitor compliance with USP standards and internal SOPs; participate in quality assurance activities.
• Support investigations related to product quality or deviations.
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians, quality teams, and operations staff to promote safe practices and optimize workflows.
• Provide training to team members and contribute to process improvements.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding product status and inventory needs.
