Job summary

Direct Meds in Tomball, TX seeks a Clinical Sterile Pharmacist to provide pharmacist-level oversight of sterile compounding operations, ensure USP 797/800 compliance, and support real-time verification and staff training in a 503A facility.

You will supervise aseptic technique, environmental controls, and documentation, while collaborating with the PIC and Pharmacy Operations to drive safety and quality improvements.

Qualifications

• ACPE Sterile Compounding Certification (minimum 20 hours)
• Experience providing pharmacist oversight of sterile and/or hazardous drug compounding
• Strong working knowledge of USP <797>/<800> and Texas Board of Pharmacy sterile compounding rules
• Experience training and evaluating pharmacy technician competency

Responsibilities

• Provide pharmacist-level oversight of all sterile compounding activities on the production floor
• Ensure aseptic technique, garbing, and environmental controls are followed
• Be present and available in or near the cleanroom to support technicians during compounding operations
• Address in-the-moment questions, deviations, and process issues as they arise
• Deliver and evaluate sterile compounding training, including media fills and gloved fingertip/thumb testing
• Verify batch records and release documentation prior to escalation for final release
• Identify opportunities to improve aseptic workflow, safety, and quality outcomes
• Partner with Clinical Operations and Quality & Inventory teams on corrective/preventive actions
• Ensure ongoing compliance with USP <797>/<800> requirements across compounding operations
