Job summary

Southend Pharmacy in Houston, TX is seeking a Lead Compounding Pharmacist to oversee day-to-day sterile hazardous compounding in a 503A setting. You will lead pharmacists and technicians, ensuring safe, accurate, and compliant compounding and verification of hazardous medications.

The role requires expert knowledge in sterile compounding per USP <797> and <800>, with leadership responsibilities and a flexible schedule. Onsite leadership and strong regulatory experience are essential.

Qualifications

Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree is required.
Active, unrestricted Pharmacist License issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in sterile pharmacy practice.
Expert proficiency in USP 797 and 800 standards and adherence to cGMP regulations.
Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills for team collaboration.

Responsibilities

Lead daily workflow of hazardous compounding operations in a 503A pharmacy.
Provide onsite leadership, coaching, and training to pharmacy technicians and staff.
Serve as acting pharmacy leader when the Pharmacy Manager is unavailable.
Partner with leadership on staffing, scheduling, and operational improvements.
Oversee compliance with 503A/503B requirements, TSBP, DEA, FDA, and SOPs.
