Job summary

HealthWealth Pharmacy in Houston, TX is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to join our 503A compounding team. This role focuses on patient-specific compounded medications, accuracy, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Pharm.D., is a licensed Texas pharmacist, and has experience with 503A/B compounding, including sterile/non-sterile processes. Strong patient counseling and collaboration with prescribers are essential.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
• Active and unrestricted Texas Pharmacist License (RPh).
• Multi-state licensure is a plus.
• IV compounding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cGMP regulations as it pertains to 21 CFR 210, 21 CFR 211, and USP standards.
• Experience in 503A/B compounding pharmacy, including sterile and/or non-sterile compounding.
• Strong knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, and <800> guidelines.
• Familiarity with PCAB accreditation standards is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and patient counseling skills.

Responsibilities

• Compound, verify, and dispense 503A patient-specific compounded medications in compliance with USP standards and state regulations.
• Review and validate prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with prescribers and healthcare providers to optimize individualized patient therapy.
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff in daily compounding operations.
• Maintain accurate patient profiles, compounding logs, and documentation in the pharmacy management system.
• Ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols, beyond-use dating (BUD), and sterile/non-sterile compounding guidelines.
• Counsel patients on proper medication use, storage, and potential side effects.
