Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking a Clinical Coordinator for Pharmacy Sterile Compounding Services. This leader will oversee sterile compounding operations, ensure regulatory compliance, manage competency, and coordinate quality assurance across multiple locations.

The role combines administrative leadership with hands-on sterile work, focusing on regulatory readiness, training, and continuous improvement to support accreditation processes.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited university.
• Current RPh license or eligible for reciprocity within 90 days of hire.
• BCSCP certification or ASHP Sterile Compounding Certification within 6 months.
• PGY2 residency + 1 year experience OR PGY1 residency + 3 years experience in the specialty.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the relevant specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Lead sterile compounding operations per USP requirements across the health system.
• Maintain regulatory readiness and documentation for accreditation surveys (Joint Commission, Board of Pharmacy).
• Provide regulatory oversight, competency management, staff education and quality assurance monitoring.
• Serve as SME and trainer for sterile compounding practices; readiness for inspections.
• Support hands-on sterile operations when needed; coordinate environmental monitoring and certifications.
• Coordinate staffing coverage across Akron General sterile locations (Inpatient, infusion centers).
