Job summary

The Clinical Coordinator, Pharmacy Sterile Compounding Services at Akron General Medical Center leads sterile compounding operations, ensuring adherence to USP <797>, USP <800>, Joint Commission and Board of Pharmacy standards across the Akron General system.

This role provides regulatory oversight, competency management, staff education, quality assurance monitoring and process improvements, while serving as the SME and trainer for sterile compounding practices and maintaining

Qualifications

Pharmacist degree from an ACPE-accredited university.
Current state licensure or eligible for reciprocity within 90 days.
BCSCP or ASHP sterile compounding certification within 6 months.
Post-graduate residency with documented clinical experience in the specialty.
Five years of pharmaceutical care in the relevant specialty.

Responsibilities

Lead sterile compounding operations across the health system.
Ensure regulatory compliance with USP 797/800, Joint Commission, and Board of Pharmacy.
Maintain readiness for accreditation surveys and inspections.
Oversee competency assessments and staff education on sterile practices.
Provide hands-on sterile compounding support when needed.
Coordinate environmental monitoring and certification processes.
Staff at multiple Akron General locations as needed, including PTO coverage.
