Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Step Down Unit (NSG-Stepdown) on a full-time day shift starting at 07:00 AM. The role involves delivering professional nursing care per physician plans, assessing patient needs, planning and implementing treatments, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient comfort and family support.

The RN will participate in orientation, supervise other staff, and contribute to safe, high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• Two-year nursing program completed or equivalent.
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• BLS, ACLS; PALS and additional certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient health data with patient and family involvement.
• Perform initial and ongoing nursing assessments.
• Document care plans and progress in medical records.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with the health team.
• Discharge planning integrated into admission process.
• Ensure patient safety and educate patient and family.
