Job summary

AmeriCorps is seeking a 4-H Youth Instructor for the Summit Innovation Lab in Idaho. This full-time role supports afterschool programs, workshops, and community events, mentoring youth and coordinating teen volunteers.

The position emphasizes hands-on STEAM education, mentorship, and collaboration with schools and community partners, with a focus on youth development and positive role modelling.

Qualifications

• Experience developing youth programs and mentoring youth.
• Strong communication with youth, families, and partners.
• Collaborative teamwork in educational settings.
• Ability to teach and tutor in hands-on activities.
• Conflict resolution and classroom management skills.
• Knowledge of K-12 education/STEAM concepts.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on learning in afterschool programs, camps, workshops, and community events.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and University of Idaho Extension staff.
• Supervise and coordinate youth leaders and teen volunteers during activities.
• Collect data and support volunteer recruitment, training, and engagement.
• Mentor youth and model positive behaviors to foster growth and learning.
