Job summary

YMCA of the East Bay is seeking energetic team members for its Y-Kids Program, a structured before/after school program focusing on STEM, nutrition, physical activity, and positive reinforcement. Staff foster education, recreation and positive development, maintaining a safe, engaging environment for children.

Responsibilities include directing program activities, mentoring assistants, and ensuring quality experiences aligned with YMCA values.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; AA/Bachelors degree preferred.
• Meets educational requirements including 12 ECE units as per CA state law.
• 1 year of experience in a professional child care or school aged program.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement curriculum within established guidelines and prepare supplies/equipment.
• Work cooperatively with all staff to ensure program quality.
• Provide direction to Assistant Teachers/Teacher’s Aides as needed.
• Promote growth and exploration while addressing each child’s needs.
• Care for the health and well-being of children and report incidents promptly.
• Maintain program records and licensing compliance.
• Attend program activities, trainings and staff meetings.
• Keep the center clean and presentable at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education
