Job summary

YMCA of the East Bay is seeking energetic team members for the Y-Kids Program in Pleasant Hill, CA. The role supports structured before/after school activities with a focus on education, recreation, healthy snacks, and positive reinforcement.

Responsibilities include planning curriculum, supervising staff, providing health and safety guidance, and communicating with families. Part-time, hourly roles require licensure and background checks as per state standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Meets CA state licensing qualifications including 12 ECE units.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in child care or school-aged program.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Pre-employment health screening and TB clearance.
• LiveScan fingerprinting and background clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement curriculum within guidelines and prepare supplies for activities.
• Work cooperatively with staff to ensure program quality.
• Provide direction to Assistant Teachers/Teacher’s Aides as needed.
• Support YMCA program goals and child development.
• Care for children's health and safety; provide first aid when needed and report incidents.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Meets educational and experience qualifications established by CA state law and Community Care Licensing including 12 ECE units

1 year of previous experience working in a professional child care or school aged program

At least 18 years of age

Pre‑employment health screening and TB clearance

LiveScan fingerprint and criminal record clearance
