Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA program completion and Illinois CNA Registry listing OR nursing student with clinical rotation completed.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of clinical/patient care related functions under the direction of the RN or physician, providing support to patients and staff.
• Collects, labels and transports specimens as assigned.
• Obtains 12 lead EKGs and discontinues Saline Locks and Indwelling Urinary Catheters.
• Discontinues Telemetry Monitoring packs and performs Bladder Scan.
• Performs Point of Care Testing and assists patients with personal hygiene and nutrition.
• Performs hourly patient rounding with the RN and documents patient care data.
• Assists with ambulation, positioning and meeting patient needs per plan of care.
• Responds to patient call lights promptly and maintains a safe care environment.
• Participates in learning and training, supports performance improvement initiatives.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of an accredited CNA program and listed on the state of Illinois CNA Registry OR Nursing student who have successful completed one clinical rotation
