Job summary

The Staten Island South Shore YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater New York, is seeking an Activity Specialist: STEM to design, deliver, and assess engaging STEM programs for afterschool and holiday camps. You will create project-based lessons, ensure safety, and foster teamwork among participants at Staten Island South Shore Center.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma or equivalent, have at least two years in STEM fields, and can connect with school-age children using diverse teaching

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required; college credits and related field preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience in science, technology, engineering, or math.
Direct experience working with children under 13; content expert in subject matter.

Responsibilities

Design STEM curriculum with clear goals and measurable objectives for multiple grade levels.
Lead and facilitate daily STEM activities in a safe, inclusive environment.
Plan for materials, safety, and logistics; assess progress and prepare end-of-cycle showcase.
