Job summary

Seaport Steel Company in Airway Heights, WA is seeking a full-time materials handler to operate overhead cranes, hostler and forklift to move and position steel loads within the yard and facility.

You will review work orders, load and unload trailers, inspect equipment, and participate in the site safety program. Candidates should have a GED or high school diploma and basic math and reading skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work a 2:45 PM–11:15 PM shift.

Qualifications

• Education: GED or high school diploma, or equivalent experience.
• Basic reading/writing ability and simple math skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
• Willingness to participate in safety programs and training.

Responsibilities

• Load trailers using hostler, forklift, and crane.
• Review work orders for load accuracy.
• Unload trailers and railcars.
• Observe load hookups and assess safety.
• Operate crane controls to regulate speed and hoist movement.
• Inspect cranes for defects and report issues to supervisor.
• Clean and maintain crane and hoisting equipment.
