Job summary

Monarch Steel Company, Inc. is seeking a motivated Material Handler to move steel throughout our service center under the guidance of the Operations Supervisor or Team Lead.

You will operate forklift and overhead cranes, receive and ship material, stage orders, and keep storage areas organized while following safety policies and OSHA standards. This role supports a 1 TEAM culture in a drug-free environment with plenty of room for growth and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards.
• Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines.
• Perform pre-shift equipment inspections.
• Operate forklift and/or overhead cranes to transport material within service center in a safe and reliable manner from trucks, facility, etc.
• Receive and/or ship material into computer system as needed.
• Move product to storage areas with proper equipment and efficiently stack and store in appropriate area.
• Maneuver material handling equipment safely and efficiently through limited space areas.
• Stock and rotate materials as necessary.
• Verify counts and product shipped and/or received as needed.
• Stage material for sales and production orders.
• Report all equipment failures to immediate supervisor.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
