Job summary

Diamondback America seeks a skilled Steel Welder Level III to fabricate and weld steel components. The role emphasizes MIG and TIG welding, fixture setup, and precise bead quality across multiple positions. You will inspect welds and perform repairs as needed to ensure structural integrity.

Candidates must pass weld tests, read measurements accurately, and handle physical work up to 50 lbs. The position is first shift with standard hours and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welds on steel in all positions.
• Examine welds for bead size and specs.
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
• Position and clamp workpieces or assemble them in fixtures.
• Select torch, filler rod, and flux per specifications.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on welding equipment.

JOB TITLE: Steel Welder Level III

JOB SUMMARY

The Steel Welder Level III is responsible for the fabrication and welding of steel.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to pass weld test
• At least 1 year of experience reading a tape measure, identifying, and measuring material
• Must be able to lift 50lbs

PREFERRED SKILLS

• At least 5 years of MIG and TIG welding experience in a production environment preferred
• At least 5 year of experience using weld fillet gauges to ensure proper weld size and interpret tolerances
• Forklift certification

CORE DUTIES

• Perform MIG and TIG welds on steel in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes
• Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in jigs or fixtures
• Select torch, torch tip, filler rod, and flux according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of material
• Perform all necessary maintenance and repair on all equipment used in welding

HOURS

• 1st shift position
• Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
• Overtime as needed

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates that accept an offer of employment will be required to pass a background and drug screen. Candidates must also meet ATF requirements for firearm possession.
