Job summary

Jobot is seeking a highly skilled Permanent Steel Fabricator to join our engineering team in Oakdale, CA. You will fabricate and assemble steel structures, read blueprints, and apply TIG and MIG welding to meet exacting specifications.

This role requires 5+ years in steel fabrication, adherence to safety protocols, and solid problem-solving and teamwork. You will work with the engineering group to troubleshoot issues, inspect workmanship, and keep accurate records of materials and time spent.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Steel Fabricator in engineering.
• Proven TIG and MIG welding experience.
• 3–5 years in structural steel fitting.
• Knowledge of safety protocols in engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Steel Fabricator to join our dynamic Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who has a keen interest in the engineering industry and is looking to take their career to the next level. The selected candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling high-quality steel structures and components. This role requires a deep understanding and experience with TIG and MIG welding techniques, structural steel fitting, and stringent safety protocols.

Responsibilities

As a Steel Fabricator, your key responsibilities will include:

• 1. Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and plans to understand the building requirements.
• 2. Fabricating and constructing high-quality steel structures and components using TIG and MIG welding techniques.
• 3. Utilizing a variety of tools and equipment to measure, cut, and shape steel into specified dimensions.
• 4. Ensuring all fabrications and assemblies meet the required specifications and quality standards.
• 5. Conducting regular inspections and maintenance of equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• 6. Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to create a safe and healthy work environment.
• 7. Collaborating with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the fabrication process.
• 8. Keeping an accurate record of all tasks, materials used, and time spent on each project.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Steel Fabricator position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• 1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Steel Fabricator in the engineering industry.
• 2. Proven experience with TIG and MIG welding techniques.
• 3. 3 – 5 years’ experience in structural steel fitting.
• 4. Demonstrated knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in the engineering industry.
• 5. Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and plans.
• 6. Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
• 7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
• 8. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• 9. Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in a variety of conditions.
• 10. A relevant certification or diploma in a related field would be advantageous.
