Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Journeyman steamfitter with trade school/apprenticeship completion required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of journeyman or sub-journeyman level experience desired, preferably in a large institution.

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, repair, and maintain low-, medium-, and high-pressure steam and condensate systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on piping, hot water, radiators, pumps, heat exchangers, and related components.
  • Read blueprints and specifications to plan piping layouts and ensure proper pitch, slope, and elevation.
  • Fabricate and weld pipe using electric/gas welding and silver soldering.
  • Route and test piping connections to ensure leak-free joints and compliance with safety and codes.
