Job summary

Luna Community College is seeking a Rough Rider Mentorship Teacher Assistant to support the After School STEAHM curriculum for K-12 students. You will assist Lead Teachers, facilitate hands-on projects, and promote safety and engagement across science, technology, arts, math, and health disciplines.

Part-time role with 3–20 hours weekly, including seasonal adjustments; prior K-12 experience and a background clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Strong academic record in at least two STEAHM-related fields.
• Previous experience working with K-12 children (camp counselor, coach, or tutor) is highly preferred.
• Must successfully pass Luna Community College’s Background Clearance process, specifically for working with minors.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers in delivering STEAHM-based lessons and projects.
• Lead small groups and ensure safety protocols during activities.
• Set up, tear down, and manage materials for daily experiments.
• Track attendance and provide feedback to improve projects.
• Coordinate open enrollment and communicate with staff.
