Job summary

Luna Community College is seeking a Rough Rider Mentorship Teacher Assistant to support a multi-disciplinary after-school program for K-12 students. The TA works under Lead Teachers to facilitate hands-on projects, experiments, and workshops across Science, Sociology, Technology, Trades, Engineering, Art, and more.

The role requires high energy and versatility, moving between diverse subjects to help students bridge gaps and explore career pathways.

Qualifications

• Strong academic record in at least two STEAHM-related fields.
• Experience with K-12 children preferred (camp counselor, tutor, coach).
• Must pass Luna Community College background clearance process for working with minors.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teachers in delivering STEAHM-based lessons and hands-on projects.
• Lead small groups to ensure understanding of steps and safety.
• Maintain lab and shop safety and equipment during activities.
• Set up and tear down materials for daily experiments.
• Support mentoring and engagement; encourage participation.
• Track attendance and provide feedback to the program director.
