Zusammenfassung

Southampton Union Free School seeks an innovative, collaborative Special Education Teacher (Leave Replacement) to co-teach ICT Social Studies and lead STEAM instruction. The role emphasizes differentiated instruction and hands-on project-based learning for students with IEPs and 504 plans within the general education setting.

Leave dates are 11/18/2026-3/9/2027. The ideal candidate will support inclusive practices, collaborate with general education teachers, and monitor student progress

Qualifikationen

Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree in Special Education or relevant field preferred.
Active NYS Certification in Students with Disabilities (SWD) for Grades 1-6.
Mandatory NYS Workshops: Child Abuse Identification & Reporting; SAVE; DASA; Autism training.
Active NYSED Fingerprint Clearance.

Aufgaben

Co-teach Integrated Co-teaching (ICT) Social Studies and lead STEAM instruction.
Differentiate instruction and use hands-on, project-based learning.
Implement IEP accommodations/modifications and track progress towards goals.
Assess and adjust instruction based on progress data.
Maintain PBIS and support behavior management as needed.
Communicate with families about student growth and well-being.
