Job summary

Yorktown Central School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher leave replacement to maximize learning for students with special needs by implementing district-approved curriculum and documenting progress.

Under the supervision of the Principal and Director of PPS, you will participate in IEP development, coordinate with families and agencies, and maintain accurate records while upholding district policies and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• NYS Certification in Special Education/Students with Disabilities.
• Prior successful special education teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of SPED principles, differentiation and IEP processes.

Responsibilities

• Assess students for learning issues and propose corrective actions.
• Participate in PPTs and develop IEPs for students.
• Assist with implementing IEPs and behavior plans.
• Coordinate with outside agencies and authorities as needed.
• Coordinate with administrators and teaching staff to identify student needs and share information.
• Maintain accurate student records and communicate with families.
