Job summary

Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County is seeking an Afterschool Program Educator to deliver 4-H youth development programming for K-12 in multiple districts. The role emphasizes STEAM education, lesson planning support, and collaboration with teachers.

The position is part-time (20 hours/week) with a $20/hour rate and a benefits package including health/dental insurance and retirement eligibility. Travel between districts may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent education and 1 year transferrable/program experience.
• Relevant experience for the role.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and ability to meet travel requirements.
• Ability to meet SACC and OCFS licensing requirements.
• Flexible hours including evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 4-H after-school programming using STEAM curricula.
• Assist in lesson plan creation and teaching.
• Support coordinators and teachers during academic study portions.
• Coordinate with school personnel to foster instruction for youth.
• Provide staffing for other after-school programs.
• Participate in program evaluation and reporting.
