Job summary

Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County is seeking an Afterschool Program Educator to support 4-H after-school programming for K-12 youth across multiple districts. The role emphasizes delivering STEAM-focused curriculum, developing lesson plans, and coordinating with classroom teachers to enhance after-school activities.

The position is part-time, with a 20-hour work week and an hourly wage of $20.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent education (GED/High School Diploma and 1 year transferrable/program experience).
• Experience relevant to the role.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
• Ability to meet all SACC and OCFS licensing requirements (TB test, physical exam, training).
• Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Program Delivery, Evaluation and Applied Research - 90% Utilize established resources to provide information and 4-H programming.
• Teach a menu of existing educational programs and activities for 4-H after-school programming (STEAM).
• Assist Coordinator in lesson plan creation and teaching innovative programs.
• Assist in providing 4-H after-school programs via multi-media as assigned.
• Assist teachers during the academic study portion of the program.
• Coordinate with school personnel to address youth needs and interests.
