Job summary

Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County is seeking an Afterschool Program Educator to support the 4-H program. The role involves delivering STEAM activities to K‑12 students across districts, with opportunities to help develop lessons and collaborate with school staff.

The position is part-time (20 hours per week) with an hourly rate of $20.00, offering a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, retirement contributions, and paid leave.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent education required.
• Experience in youth development or related program work preferred.
• Ability to meet SACC and OCFS licensing requirements, including TB test and training.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver STEAM-focused afterschool programming using established resources.
• Assist with lesson‑plan development and teaching of new programs.
• Collaborate with school personnel to integrate instruction and address student interests.
• Provide staffing for other 4‑H after‑school programs as needed.
• Support outreach, marketing, and report completion for Extension programs.
• Participate in required trainings and maintain a safe working environment.
