Job summary

Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC is seeking an on-site assembler/operator to build and assemble generator cores and pressure plates. You'll become proficient with shop tools, set up and operate robots, and perform precision assemblies according to drawings.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 4+ years in industrial-mechanical work, ability to lift 50 lb, and willingness to pass safety tests. Siemens Energy offers stability and growth.

• Proficiency with shop tools – grinders, sanders, drills, ratchets, wrenches, etc.
• Ability to lift/move 50 lb. materials.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment and read basic forms.
• Must pass hearing, vision, and pulmonary tests and be fit to wear a respirator.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not required.

Build and assemble pressure plates and process all aspects of manufacturing service generator cores.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Become familiar with all tools and equipment for generator core assembly.
• Perform fitting and assembly operations necessary to build and assemble complete cores, torque and tension bolts and hardware per drawings.
• Set up and operate robots, clean and detail cores.
• Build and assemble pressure plates and process all aspects of manufacturing service generator cores.

What You Bring:

• High school education or GED required.
• Prefer to have a candidate with 4 or more years of industrial-mechanical experience.
• Proficiency with shop tools – grinders, sanders, drills, ratchets, wrenches, etc., and ability to choose optimal tool for the task. Required to lift / move 50 lb. materials.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment. Basic math skills. Ability to read, write, and complete simple forms.
• Successful applicants must be able to pass hearing, vision, and pulmonary tests. Operator must be able to be fit to wear a respirator. Must also be able to obtain fork truck and crane license.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
