Job summary

Siemens Energy in Charlotte is seeking an experienced assembler for generator core components. You will build and assemble pressure plates, perform fitting and bolt torque per drawings, and set up robots for production lines.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 4+ years in industrial-mechanical roles, and the ability to lift 50 lb, operate precision measuring tools, read simple forms, and obtain forklift/crane licenses. Training provided.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of industrial-mechanical experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with shop tools and ability to lift 50 lb.
  • Ability to read, write, and complete simple forms.
  • Must be able to pass respirator fit tests and obtain forklift and crane licenses.
  • Career Readiness/Work Keys Silver Status required.

Responsibilities

A Snapshot Of Your Day

Build and assemble pressure plates and process all aspects of manufacturing service generator cores.

How You’ll Make an Impact:
  • Become familiar with all tools and equipment for generator core assembly.
  • Perform fitting and assembly operations necessary to build and assemble complete cores, torque and tension bolts and hardware per drawings.
  • Set up and operate robots, clean and detail cores.
  • Build and assemble pressure plates and process all aspects of manufacturing service generator cores.
What You Bring:
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Prefer to have a candidate with 4 or more years of industrial-mechanical experience.
  • Proficiency with shop tools – grinders, sanders, drills, ratchets, wrenches, etc., and ability to choose optimal tool for the task. Required to lift / move 50 lb. materials.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment. Basic math skills. Ability to read, write, and complete simple forms.
  • Operator must be able to be fit to wear a respirator. Must be able to obtain fork truck and crane license.
  • The Career Readiness/Work Keys Certificate – Silver Status required. Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests or any other as required to perform the duties.
