Job summary

AEP is seeking a Station Electrician at Longview, TX. Residency within 30 miles of the Longview Service Center is required.

The role involves energised work up to 260 V with potential involvement in higher voltages under supervision, plus installation, testing, and maintenance of transformers, breakers, and related equipment. Candidates should have an associate degree in electrical/mechanical/industrial maintenance technology or equivalent, and be able to travel over half the time.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical/mechanical/industrial maintenance technology or equivalent.
• Experience/ability to read prints and diagrams and use test equipment.
• Must be able to travel >50% and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work on energized equipment up to 260 volts with proper supervision.
• Assist in installing and maintaining station transformers and breakers.
• Perform inspections, tests, and start-run-stop procedures on generators and motors.
• Support in servicing and repairing station equipment and testing systems.
