Job summary

You will work in a fast-paced operations center, requiring quick learning, calm decision making, and effective communication with transportation, emergency responders, and public safety partners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to work non-traditional schedules including nights and weekends.
• Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and systems.
• Ability to monitor multiple information sources with accuracy.
• Verbal and written communication skills with stakeholders.
• Experience with dispatch, monitoring, or operations center systems preferred.
• Analytical thinking and sound decision making under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal skills for coordinating with diverse partners.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time traffic, weather, and roadway conditions using CCTV and ITS tools.
• Use multiple communication platforms to gather and share critical information.
• Identify, assess, and respond to incidents and disruptions quickly.
• Coordinate with PennDOT personnel, emergency responders, law enforcement, and towing operators.
• Determine impact and implement traveler information strategies using ITS devices.
• Maintain situational awareness while managing multiple information sources.
• Document incidents and activities within agency systems.
• Provide timely notices about incidents, closures, and weather impacts.
