Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a transportation planning professional in Pennsylvania. You will conduct planning, forecasting, and traffic studies, developing alternatives to meet project needs while supporting public engagement and presenting technical reports.

You will apply a multimodal perspective, analyze data, and collaborate with a team. Local to Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, with a focus on client relationships and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in planning or civil engineering required.
  • PE license or AICP certification preferred.
  • Experience leading transportation studies for PA/DE infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of federal and state transportation planning regs.
  • Ability to communicate with officials and the public.

When you join us, you'll be responsible for
  • Conducting transportation planning, traffic operations, and forecasting studies.
  • Developing and evaluate alternatives to address project needs.
  • Leading or support public engagement activities.
  • Preparing and present clear, high quality technical reports.
  • Applying a multimodal perspective across all projects, considering all users and travel modes.
The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Experience
  • Experience in leading or managing transportation studies for PennDOT/DelDOT or PA/DE localities
  • Strong understanding of transportation planning and traffic engineering principles.
  • Ability to develop innovative planning and mobility solutions.
  • Skill in organizing, analyzing, and visualizing transportation data.
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and building client and team trust.
Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in planning or civil engineering
  • PE license or AICP certification
  • Substantial experience in long range planning, forecasting, transportation studies, and safety/traffic analysis for PennDOT and/or DelDOT or PA/DE localities including supporting on-call tasks
  • Working knowledge of federal and state transportation planning regulations
  • Proficiency with tools such as HCM/HCS, VISSIM, Synchro, SIDRA, and ArcGIS.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical staff, elected officials, and the public.
  • Local to our Pennsylvania offices Philadelphia or Pittsburgh

The base salary range for this position is $120,000.00 to $150,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
