Job summary

The Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library is seeking a Resource Sharing Specialist for Sorting & Materials Retrieval at the Main Library in Cincinnati, OH. The role focuses on coordinating borrowing and lending statewide and overseeing the library's Resource Sharing service.

You will process interlibrary loan requests, prepare SearchOhio and OhioLink materials for shipping, and maintain accurate loan records. Evening and weekend hours are required.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of relevant experience.
• Experience with resource sharing, especially SearchOhio and OhioLink.
• Driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work includes evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Process requests from other libraries for Library materials.
• Process customer requests for materials not owned by the Library.
• Prepare SearchOhio and OhioLink materials for shipping.
• Maintain records for incoming/outgoing SearchOhio and OhioLink requests.
• Track overdue shared materials.
• Prepare invoices and receipts for checks received.
• Provide leadership to Grade 1–4 staff when designated.
• Serve as in-charge in the absence of leadership.
• Address SearchOhio catalog and circulation issues.
• Assist in developing new procedures for SearchOhio/OhioLink.
• Explain policies to customers and staff.
• Resolve customer issues and complaints.
• Compile statistics and run reports for collection maintenance.
• Answer reference questions in person and by telephone.
